Parallel

In cartography and geography, another name for a line of latitude.

In mathematics, any two lines that are always equidistant (the same distance apart).

In computer-ease and electrical engineering, a data path that can carry several signals simultaneous. For example, older connections to printers were often via "parallel ports", or ports that could transport eight bits of data, and several other bits of status information, simultaneously.
